On November 27, 2018 the Hyattsville CDC partnered with Luke Brandon, a US Navy Command Financial Specialist and local Jazz musician, to host the first of a series of free personal finance classes.
This first class reviewed the basics of personal finance and budget, describing the ideal budget, benchmarks to hit, and investment strategies. Brandon suggested a few free tools to manage personal finance and provided community members with resources to set budget goals, identify their debt-to-income ratio, and calculate net worth.
