Artist Statement
My sculptures explore relationships. Healthy relationships are the interaction between two or more entities that show a dynamic of harmony and trust.
At a deeper level my work includes a spiritual component: who are we as individuals, where are we headed, and what do we value in life. This aspect of my work is truly about the relationship with Self and Universe.
In portraying relationships by combining two or more forms, I strive to find individuality among the components and yet also join them together to make a bigger sense of whole.
Generally, the materials I use are steel, cast metals and woods of various types. Many of my works are made from salvaged or recycled resources.
