Mark J. Mazz

Mark J. Mazz is an architect who has specialized in accessible design and providing expert consulting forĀ over 40 years. His clients include owners, architects, engineers, developers, construction managers, organizations for persons with disabilities, and governmental agencies. His major clients have included the Architect of the Capitol, other Federal agencies, and Montgomery County, MD.

In his eight years with the Federal Government, Mark was an architect in DOJ’s Housing and Civil Enforcement and Disability Rights Sections and the senior advisor on accessibility issues in HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity.

Mark is licensed architect and a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Architecture (Urban Studies) and a Bachelor’s of Architecture. He serves on the Boards of theĀ Accessibility Professional Association (APA) and CALMRA. The APA provides a forum, resources, andĀ continuing education for accessibility specialists, architects, interior designers, engineers, ADAĀ coordinators, building officials, and others about the built environment. CALMRA helps adults withĀ cognitive disabilities live fulfilling lives. They provide a day program and have 15 homes, each serving only 3 adults.

Since graduating from college, Mark has lived in Riverdale and Hyattsville. Currently, he is living in andĀ renovating an old house in Hyattsville. After spending so much time on the road for work, Mark enjoys collecting art, the Hyattsville community, and having breweries and restaurants within walking distance to home.
