Riverdale Park, Maryland – On behalf of the Town of Riverdale Park, the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation (CDC) is pleased to announce the arrival of seven new sculptures across Riverdale Park. The Riverdale Park Public Art Initiative brings to life the Town’s plan to create an engaging, publicly accessible outdoor sculpture gallery within its neighborhood.

Riverdale Park is a community rich with history and support for the visual and performing arts. As a historic inner-beltway suburb of Washington, DC in Prince George’s County, Riverdale Park is gaining recognition as an emerging development market. Riverdale Park is a member of the Maryland Milestones Anacostia Trail Heritage Area and serves as an important connector for over 50,000 vehicles daily traveling to the University of Maryland, College Park, Hyattsville, and the Port-Towns via connectors US Route 1, Kenilworth Avenue, and East-West Highway.

2024 marks the ninth program year for the Town’s Public Art Initiative. This year we are introducing one new artist to the program:

1. Elizabeth Arzt“Dragon Head & Tail”

Returning artist work includes:

2. Creative Metal Design – “Hyperbola”

3. Paul Steinkoenig “Light in the Darkness”

4. Lee Badger “Fowl Ball”

5. Lee Badger “Interloctangles”

6. Kirk Seese “Chess Table & Chair”

7. Kirk Seese “The Feather”

The initiative’s rotating, year-round outdoor gallery showcases sculptures across Riverdale Park, creating promotional opportunities for local artists to reach broader audiences.
