Help turn our satellite dish into stellar public art
In addition to restoring the 4314 Farragut Street we also wish to repurpose an inoperable satellite disk that isn’t exactly beautifying the property. We will work with local artist, Alan Binstock, to add his own flare to the dish that makes it interesting, yet commemorates the history of the building; turning this small piece of blight into a head-turning beacon called FutureView.
We are currently in the process of restoring our new home on 4314 Farragut Street. Once the location of the first Cable TV franchise in Prince George’s County and Storer Cable, the Hyattsville CDC is repurposing this 2-story bungalow to serve Hyattsville and the Gateway Arts District’s revitalization goals. Come early 2014 it will house the CDC’s programs, the Creative Edge Studio of Prince George’s County, and two artists-in-residence. In addition to restoring the building we also wish to repurpose an inoperable satellite disk that isn’t exactly beautifying the property.
