Fundraising: Street Art Initiative

Help us fund:

  • Innovative small-scale public art for Route 1 businesses and the emerging area developments in the Gateway Arts District
  • Inspire our artists to think bigger: to make these artworks larger, have stronger longer-lasting materials, and showcase our neighborhood’s corridor.
  • Support these local businesses with even better contemporary, high-quality, clever works of art.

Your contribution will help us expand the size and scope of murals

Background

Starting in January 2013, with the support of County Councilmember Will Campos and the Gateway Arts District Management Team, the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation (CDC) began the Street Art Initiative. This program is designed to connect participating property owners across Route 1 with selected artists from a juried pool of street artists, to craft an artwork on each property that will visually resonate with our community’s many voices. We’ve already fundraised for 20 small-scale public artworks across Hyattsville, North Brentwood, Brentwood, and Mount Rainier (5 works per municipality); we welcome your help.
