Trolley Trail Day 2026

July 7, 2026

The Hyattsville Community Development Corporation (HyCDC) has been a founding organizer of Trolley Trail Day since its launch in 2019, working with regional partners to create an annual event that celebrates the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail while promoting local businesses, arts, and community connections. Since then, HyCDC has remained an active planning and programming partner, helping the event grow into a major regional celebration that attracts thousands of participants each year.

From morning rides, walks, and runs to an evening of music and festivities, the trail once again came alive with activity on June 13, 2026 for the 5th Annual Trolley Trail Day. Visitors explored 15 hubs stretching from College Park to Mount Rainier, connecting with local businesses, artists, performers, and community organizations while celebrating the trail's role in bringing communities together.

In Hyattsville, the festivities centered around Melrose Skatepark and The Spot. The DMV Music Academy Drumline kicked off the day with a lively march from North Brentwood's Entrepreneur Park to Melrose and The Spot, setting the tone for a day filled with music and fun. Melrose featured DJ sets from the Hy-Fi Groove Society, hands-on art activities, dance performances by Adagio Dance, and refreshments from Maryland Meadworks and 2Fifty Texas BBQ.

Nearby, Franklin's welcomed visitors with treats from their new ice cream shop and hosted the Full Picture Games community exploration vending machine.

At The Spot, families enjoyed crafts and sensory play with Playhouse Discovery, Pride Month activities, and live music from the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation. The day also marked an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for a new public park that will further enhance this downtown area. The celebration highlighted the City of Hyattsville's continued investment in creating welcoming public spaces and building community along the Trolley Trail.

Trolley Trail Day once again showcased how the trail connects not just communities, but the people, businesses, and organizations that make them thrive. Thank you to our incredible partners, volunteers, performers, vendors, and everyone who joined us!
