Cory L. Stowers, Jason Philp and Henry Portillo all began their artistic careers in their shared childhood home of Hyattsville, Maryland.
Philps and Stowers met in 2002, when he attended Stowers’s weekly art class on murals production, Portillo joined the group in 2007.
Over the past 10 years the group has contributed to more than 40 publicly commissioned murals in Washington, DC. In that time the group has worked with many groups and organizations to create and install works of art that help to give context and identity to communities, and have engaged hundreds of youth and adult artists to take part in the creation of these works.
